COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Do I need symptoms to see a Chiropractor or Acupuncturist?

Absolutely not.  Prevention is better than cure!  If you are interested in prolonging the health and fitness of your body, maintaining free motion and increasing your body’s capacity to heal itself, Acupuncture and Chiropractic are excellent modalities to assist with the prevention of dis-ease. Both modalities can help you maintain optimum physical and emotional health, increase energy levels, improve core stability and maintain flexibility.

Why would a child need Chiropractic care?

Did you know that a child’s spine can be injured during the intense birthing process, particularly if forceps are utilised?  And the rough and tumble of childhood often leads to more than just skinned knees – especially falls off bikes, jungle gyms and the arduous process of learning to walk!

Growing bodies often heal pain and wounds quickly, however spinal or joint misalignments
are not always corrected by our own healing mechanisms – often the body needs a little assistance. It’s not until later in life that symptoms may occur and most adults are amazed
to discover that years of aches and pains can be attributed to some seemingly insignificant childhood fall.

Chiropractic techniques for children are very gentle and effective and healing time is usually much faster than an adults.

What causes the cracking sound heard from some Chiropractic adjustments?

Not your bones!  The cracking sound sometimes heard from a chiropractic adjustment is
when the joint surface moves apart very slightly and release the synovial gas within the joint.
That cracking noise is known as a cavitation.

When I see a Chiropractor do I have to be cracked?

No!  There are many chiropractic techniques that do not crack (cavitate) the joint. Please
call the Chirotechnic team if you would like to know more about the techniques available.
